Care and Medical Services

For breastfeeding consultations and/or breastfeeding difficulties, we have trained lactation consultants on our team. They provide breastfeeding assistance at any time, demonstrate various breastfeeding positions, and advise you on caring for your newborn.

Women who cannot or do not wish to breastfeed are also well cared for in our maternity clinic.

Our physiotherapists will guide you through postpartum exercises. You will, of course, be involved in any examinations by the pediatricians or other medical procedures for your child. If there were any particularities during the birth, a discharge examination of the mother, including an ultrasound, will be conducted.

Thanks to our cooperation with the University Hospital Dresden, excellent pediatric care is always ensured.

  • During the day – including weekends – pediatricians are always available in the delivery room to care for newborns; in the evenings and at night, they are on call.
  • The pediatric examinations U1 and U2 are performed by the pediatricians on the postpartum ward.
  • Initial care of the newborn by obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatric nurses, and midwives is always provided.

Discharge

After a natural birth, you can stay on our postpartum ward for three days; after a cesarean section, for four days. The earliest possible discharge is six hours after birth. During this time, we will support you with tips and active guidance in caring for your child, especially with breastfeeding and diapering.

We recommend that you arrange for further postpartum care for your family by a midwife, with whom you should establish contact early in your pregnancy.
